MCC’s Board of Trustees announces three finalists in presidential search

During a special meeting on April 29, the Montcalm Community College Board of Trustees voted to conduct second interviews with three candidates for the college’s president position.

The interviews are May 6, 7 and 8. They are open to the public and will be at 5 p.m. in rooms D303-305 in the Beatrice E. Doser Building in the college’s Sidney campus. Community open forums precede each interview from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. during which community members may meet and ask questions of each candidate.

The candidates and their interview dates are:

Monday, May 6 – Dr. Sandra Kiddoo, President of Northland Community and Technical College in Minnesota.

Tuesday, May 7 – Dr. Jon H. Connolly, President and Associate Professor of Environmental, Biological, and Horticultural Science at Sussex County Community College in Newton, New Jersey.

Wednesday, May 8 – Dr. Bradley J. Barrick, Executive Director of Marketing and Public Relations at Rose State College in Midwest City, Oklahoma.

MCC’s presidential search committee considered a pool of 48 applicants with the assistance of consultant Dr. Angela Provart, President of Pauly Group Inc.

The presidential search committee includes:

  • Karen Carbonelli, Carol Dueling-Ravell and Kurt Peterson, representing the MCC Board of Trustees.
  • Jane Anderson-Beach and Bridget Badder, representing the MCC Foundation Board of Directors.
  • Vladimir Edelman, Tore Skogseth and Anne Wiggers, representing MCC faculty and staff.
  • Jakob Bigard, Mandy Christian, Kyle Hamlin and Bob Byram, representing the community.
  • Tiana Whitacre, representing MCC students.

With Pauly Group’s assistance, the Board intends to have a new president in place by July, creating a smooth transition in leadership from Interim President Connie Stewart.

MCC’s sixth president, Dr. Stacy H. Young, ended her tenure at MCC in June 2023, after being named the 16th president of her alma mater, Manchester University in Indiana. MCC’s Board of Trustees appointed Vice President for Administrative Services Connie Stewart as the college’s Interim President from July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024.
